Welcome to the webpage of Oliver Herbort.

I am an exoplanet enthusiast or in other words: an exoplaneteer.

Currently I am an ARIEL postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Astrophysics at the University of Vienna. My scientific interst lies in understanding rocky exoplanets. Especially in the possibility of linking the atmospheric composition to the surface conditions and interior composition. This is driven by two questions:
1) How different can rocky exoplanets be to those in our solar system?
2) How can we constrain the suerface and interior of these planets with observations?

Recently I was awarded my PhD from the University of St Andrews in Scotland for my thesis ‘Atmospheres of Rocky exoplanets’.
